Overview: A nice neighborhood BYOB with occasionally good but inconsistent food. The menu is highly ambitious, but never quite reaches the heights the menu descriptions suggest. The menu is a 3-course prix fixe, but is reasonably priced ($28.50 per person).
Food: Eclectic American cuisine. For starters, there was a salmon cake special that sounded great but came out bland and dry. A dining companion had the “Honey Almond Baked Brie in Phyllo with a Raspberry Sauce” which was deliciously sweet and succulent, but obviously not the lightest appetizer in history. For main courses, the “Pan Seared Chilean Sea Bass with Butter Pecan Sauce, served over Vanilla Sweet Potato Mousse” was a bit oversweet and lacked complexity. The “Filet Mignon with Red Onion Jam and Bordelaise Sauce on a Bed of Roasted Garlic Potato Mousse” sounded great on paper but failed to overwhelm anyone who ordered it. The desserts change nightly and are easily the best course.
Ambiance: Small, neighborhood place. Very nice.
Service: Service was good. Not much else to say here.
Value: $28.50 for three courses, BYOB… I’d say this is a good value. Personally, however, I rarely order three courses, so that makes me question the value a bit. Still, a solid value.

I love this restaurant! Every time I go there, I get a wonderful meal, as do the people I am dining with. This restaurant is an asset to Conshohocken!

This alleged food critic is way off base. We have had several meals there and have never been disappointed. So impressed were we that we worked with the owner to have a wedding rehearsal dinner there to overwhelming acceptance.

After dining at the Grille last night, we have to agree more with the food critic then the past two patrons. While we had a nice table with a great service, albeit loud atmosphere, the food was only so so. The crab dip was hot but the flavor was disappointing – about what we expected for a starter, the scallops were a better choice. I had the Ahi Tuna – rare and it was so rare it was still cold in the middle – if I wanted sushi I would have gone down the street. She had the “special” Rainbow trout stuffed with crab meat in a spicy sauce which was by far the better meal of the two. She also had the chocolate fondue that was truly was the best part of the meal (as stated above) & I had what sounded great – cappucino creme brulee – only to find that the top was not treated with sugar or any heat! It was rubbery with no thin crust. Very disappointing

I’ve eaten at the Grille ~ 7 times and it is one of those places you know you can go to for a delightful & satisfying meal. It is my home cooked meal away from home. The price is reasonable too. It is not a restaurant that pretends to be something it is not. Of all the times I’ve eaten here, I’ve had 1 bad experience with their seasonal pumpkin soup. Others seemed to like it, so it may have just been me. I’d recommend this restaurant to anyone and have brought my family here on a few occassions as well.

Dined here last night for the first time in years and the food is still very good. The wild mushroom risotto was the best risotto I’ve ever had. That’s high praise considering the number of times we’ve had the dish. The crab dip was nice but nothing jaw dropping. My fiance had the scallops for dinner. They were properly prepared but it was the Butternut Squash Sauce that made it really sing. I had the rainbow trout special, which was a nice fish for the basil pesto and stewed tomatoes sauce.
With so many BYOs in Philadelphia, your choices are plenty. But Fayette Street Grill is one I won’t wait several years to visit again.

We enjoyed Friday evening at the Fayette Street Grill and it was wonderful. My husband and I are food snobs and both of us love to cook. The food was presented beautifully and tasty equally as good. I had the Mahi Mahi and it was delicious. I don’t remember our server’s name but she was very attentive. My husbands duck was a bit rare for his liking but it was fixed quickly and he was a happy camper. The desert was a huge piece of chocolate cake presented in a very fancy swirl of raspberry and cream. We took our other desert home for our son who was every so grateful.. The coffee was wonderful and the appetizers were all good. I just made another reservation for February with some other friends. Try it you’ll love it!

My husband and I dined with our 1 year old daughter.
The decor is horrible and they were playing 80’s music which turned us off even more. I had the Sea Bass it was OK and my husband had the tuna which was a very little piece and was OK. They had nothing to offer my daughter so she snacked on crackers I had in my bag. The waitress looked like she works at the diner and to top it off they don’t take Amex.Would not go back.

Have eaten here at least 20+ times for lunch and mid-week dinners and loved the food each time. However, was very dissapointed on a Friday evening when my friend and I were asked to leave because we were sitting at our table too long (1.45 min…..after having no choice but to eat a 3-course meal that takes a long time to be served). This was my first “weekend dinner service” seating and will be my last ever. Need to warn diners of a set time they need to be out… Very unprofessional.

My husband and I were very impressed. Everything was delicious and impeccably prepared. The servers were gracious, and the food was wonderful. How great it was to watch the chef in action, taking care to prepare everything perfectly. We will definitely go back………often!!!!

I have eaten at the Fayette Street grill at least 15 times over the last 5-6 years. The menu, the food, the service and the physical space have always been great. I have taken many people to eat here and no one has ever been disappointed. I have eaten all over the world and learned that a great meal is a combination of many items. Food does not need to be expensive or “complex” to be a great meal. 3 courses for $28.95 and your own wine IS a great value.
